Motorcycle Repair: Maxing out, engine oil, mufflers

I have a 97 katana, Lately I have been smellining gas come out of the mufflers,and the rpm's has been maxing out around 6 or 7 and kind of shaking a bit. Can you advise me what to do. thank you

Hi Patrick, try servicing the air filter. Motorcycles are very sensitive to a plugged filter. She is definatly running rich. Also drain and replace your engine oil it is most likly fuel fouled especialy if your smelling raw fuel out the pipes. Good luck
