Motorcycle Repair: Relocating rear turn signals for saddle bags., kawasaki vulcan 500, rear fender

Question
Mark,
Brand new Kawasaki Vulcan 500. Need to move the rear turn signals. Wires go from signal thru frame, then thru retaining nut, and on up as a two wire harness on the underside of the rear fender. From photos of replacement turn signals on the web, I gather that there is a male/female quick disconnect somewhere around 6inches from the turn signal post.  BUT...my hands are too big, or the space is too small to access it very easily. Also, there is a protective rubber cover over the two wires. Would removing the seat help? My next choice is to simply cut/splice extensions/wrap with shrinkwrap/and be done. But really would rather do it right (without removing the rear tire.). I have my chain saw and very big hammer ready for your answer. Thanks, Steve

Answer
Hi Steve,

You'll just dull the chainsaw's blade. : )

Removing the seat may offer a solution. Also, coerce someone with smaller hands to coconspire with you.
