Motorcycle Repair: Honda bags on a Harley, honda goldwing, wierd question

Question
Hi Falcon,

This may be a wierd question so I'll understand a less than enthusiastic response.

I have two saddle bags and trunk off an '82 Honda Goldwing (all fiberglass).  I am planning to buy a 2003 HD Dyna Glide.  I would strip and paint the old bags and trunk to match the HD color and was wondering if it would be relatively easy to have brackets made to have them installed on the Dyna.  It sure would be a lot cheaper to use these than buy new HD ones.  Is it do-able or would it be a tough job.  Thanks for your answer.

Bob

Answer
Hi Bob.
Actually, the trunk should be very little problem.

Use the Harley rack and mount the bag to it.  The saddlebags may not be so easy.

If you can mount the Harley police bag mounts on, they might match.  Otherwise, you may need to build a set of mounts custom.

Still, it should be a very cool looking conversion.  I would love to see it when it's done.

Good luck.
