Motorcycle Repair: dead electrical system, 2000 katana 600, theft attempt

Question
chris someone tried to steal my motorcycle recently.  They attempted to hotwire my 2000 katana 600.  I checked the battery and it still had a good charge.  Did they fry my cdi because the bike has no power whatsoever.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Dan.
Start by checking your main fuse and then all the other fuses.  Also make sure that the wiring is not now FUBAR from the theft attempt.

If you turn the key on and you get no power, then it is probable that the main fuse is burned out.  It could also be that ther wiring is messed up at the point where they tried to hot-wire it.

Start with all that and let me know what you find.

Good luck.
