Johnny,

Im sorry, Maybe I wasn't making my qusetion clear. What I ment to ask was How do you check for the proper end play. I know the what it is supposed to be but Im not sure I know what the procedure is for checking to see if I have the proper end play in my front wheel bearings. Thanks for your time.

.001" to .004" is the end play spec's.for wheel bearings  Johnny

Answer
I put the axle in a vice and spacers and then the wheel and more spacers untill I can torque the axle nut to the proper spec's. Then I use a dial indcator with a magnetic base and set it to Zero. and now I place the mic on the hub pull up on the wheel and watch the indcator to see what the reading is, then correct it to the proper spect's. If it is too tight you will have to remove the nut and spacers and then the wheel and remove the wheel seal and the bearing and either add or remove bearing shims and then do it all over again untill proper end play is reached.
