Motorcycle Repair: leaky tappet cover, honda shadow, o rings

Hi, I have a 83 Honda Shadow VT750c, with a leaky tappet cover. Is there anyway to replace gasket without yanking motor? If I do have to pull motor is there anything else I should replace while out?i.e. gaskets, O-Rings. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Doug.
 I do not know of any way to change that without removing the engine.  But if you do pull the engine, you should take the opportunity to inspect and replace everything that you can.  The bike is 21 years old, so I am sure that there are any number of things that need replacement or adjustment.

 You will find inspection/adjustment specs in your repair manual, of course.
