Motorcycle Repair: Two: Lack of spark & Poor low -end running, suzuki rm 125, honda cr80

Question
1. 2000 Suzuki RM 125 Haven't ridden it in roughly 2 months, pulled out of garage and have no spark. Put in new plug, checked for lose connectors; all o.k.  It just died while sitting. What tests should I now run to determine the problem?

2. 1999 Honda CR80 Expert. Starts and revs well but with a slight bog until it hits higher RPMs while sitting still. Once you try to move it bogs badly and you have to slip the clutch until you hit the higher RPM's, no bottom end and a lot of exhaust smoke. Have changed plug and fuel several times, checked compression and it only registered a little over 80 psi.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Answer
Hi Jack,

Check the carburetors on both MC's for varnishing. Thoroughly clean the carbs as necessary. I suspect this is the Honda's problem.

Check all wiring for defects and damages from rodents. They are known to chew wiring. Check for loose connections, too.
