Motorcycle Repair: SLUGGISH HIGH FUEL CONSUMPTION, air fuel mixture, fuel hoses

Question
I own a 1992 suzuki gsxr750wn at low revs for example moving away from a junction or roundabouts it seems very sluggish fuel consumption is higher than it should be I have had the carbs synchronised but dident do any good Any info would be a great help ...  TOSH

Answer
Hi Jim,

Excessive fuel consumption is usually the result of worn needle jets. Other causes my be gasoline leaking from overflow tubes on carburetors, defective fuel hoses, or other.

Describe the appearance of the spark plugs.

I suspect the carbs need minor tuning to restore proper performance. I'll need to know the colors of the spark plug insulators. I suspect the air-fuel mixture is a tad rich.
