Motorcycle Repair: Honda 50, honda cub 50, honda enthusiasts

Question
I have aqquired a Honda 50.  I think it is a 1966. The number is C100-P038066.  Can you confirm the year and is this a Cub or Super Cub.  Is there a good web site for Honda serial numbers?
Thank You

From what I have learned over the years, the serial numbers were alphabetical in unknown series designators, so your bike is fairly far down the alphabet, indicating a mid-1960's version. There is a white tag on the wiring harness, located under the leg shields that has a date on it, for approximate reference.

The engines and frames do not match or are even close, unlike the twin cylinder machines from that era, which have a numbering sequence that reveals the year of manufacture. These bikes came off the assembly line at a rate of one per minute in the 1960s, so literally millions were made and shipped all around the world. The original term Super Cub was dropped in favor of Honda Cub 50 in the US. US versions do not have turn signals, but the front handlebars still have the lens covers in place.

You can connect with other vintage Honda enthusiasts in the US through the www.vjmc.org site. These bikes are still very popular in Japan and are raced in many different forms.
