Motorcycle Repair: carb fuel over flow, overflow tube, speck

Question
Hi Mike:

I started my bike a few hours ago and my S&S "G"
carb "overflow" tube starting spitting out a lot of fuel onto the ground.  I had the choke set on about half to allow it to warm up.  I started overflowing right after I started it; what caused this I have never had this problem before?

Thanks,
Roland

Answer
Either your float is sticking or there is a speck of dirt keeping the needle from seating.
remove the bowl of the carb and clean it. You donthave to remove the carb to do this. Remove the plug at the bottom and drain the carb. Next remove the 4 screws from the bottom and the float will come off.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
