CHRIS MY SONS CRANKCASE BREATHER DRAIN HOSE ON A NEW(5MO OLD)2004 HONDA CRF250 CONSTANTLY FILLS UP AFTER ONLY A SHORT TIME OF PRATICE RIDING AT A TRACK EVEN AT TIMES DRIPPING FROM THE AIRFILTER BOX. NO -ONE ELSES CRF250 DOES THIS THE DEALER JUST REPLACED TEH TOP END AND VALVES. BLAMING WEAR FOR THE OIL PROB.  IT STILL DOES IT  I KNOW THE ENGINE OIL IS CRITICAL TO MONITOR BECAUSE IT HOLD ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT. BUT WE KNOW IT ISNT GETTING OVERFILLED AND WE ARE CHECKING IT  PLEASE ANY HELP  HONDA SAYS IT NORMAL *NOT*

Hi.
Clearly, this is not normal behavior for any bike.  There are a couple of things to check here.

1)  Is it possible that the choke is sticking?  That may cause the carb to try to pull enough air through and pull it from the crankcase.

2)  If the valves are not closing (or opening) completely, they could be pulling oil through the air filter, using the carbs and airbox.

Nothing else comes to mind for a cause or solution to your problem.  Sorry I can't help further.

Good luck.

could a after market white bros pipe be causing the prob.the prob kinda started about the time this was put on ,thats the only thing different from my sons bike to others in the group    to much back pressure?

Answer
Hi there.
It wasn't something that I had considered, since you didn't mention that previously, but yes it could be the problem if the bike was not retuned properly for the new exhaust.  Probably something that the "parts changers" at the dealership didn't think to check either.  You may need to get a different exhaust system on the bike if you can't get it tuned for the new back pressure.

Good luck.
