Motorcycle Repair: exhaust, magic wand, vance and hines exhaust

Question
I have a fuel injection Fatboy (2001).  I was told by a mechanic that if I kept the baffles in Vance and Hines straight shots, I would not have to have the carb rejected.  He told me that they have installed many of them and did have to download the computer program to reject.
Is this true or false?

first off the exhaust system you installed on your bike is TOTAL JUNK and I dont care who trys to tune it or remap it or rejet it or what ever,The bike will allways run like crap. Help the bike out and install a good exhaust system like a white brothers e-series 2 into 1 exhaust system and the bike will run so much better and have more horse power and torque accross the entire power band and it will be a snap to tune and remap or rejet it and your bike will love you for it. Vance and Hines exhaust are the worse exhaust system on the market today. I take at least 1 off every week from a customer. I tell them I do not have a magic wand to make bad pipes work. Johnny
