Motorcycle Repair: Oil In Carb, rocker boxes, rubber valves

Blowing oil out of the carb.
1996 1200 Sportster XLH
Only thing done lately was to put chrome
covers on.

Answer
You have a small rubber valve in the rocker boxes that is suppose to let the air vent. The air vents into the carb. After a while the rubber valves get weak and let some oil vent, getting worse as time go on. What you need to do is remove the rocker boxes and you will see the rubber valves in the second ring.
