i own a 2001 1200cc  motorcycle.
my motorcyle is stalling as well as backfiring.  it doesn't accellerate smoothly bumpy acceleration. feels like sparksplugs,what could the problem be?

Couple of question. Does the bike sit and idle? Pull the plugs and let me know what color they are. Have you make any modifications to the bike?

The sparkplugs are dry but black and crusty.  The bike idles rougher than when I bought it.  The idle is not constant but changes, sounds like it could die sometimes.  What worries me is the backfiring and idle.  Could new sparkplugs fix the problem?  I'm not sure if the dealer i bought it from ever changed them.

Go ahead and change the plugs. They are fouled anyway. Go for a ride and see if it still runs bad. If it does then you need to test the coil and plug wires. You will need a OHM meter to do this. Sounds like you are not getting a hot enough spark.
