Motorcycle Repair: raked, stock bike, rake

Question
What does it mean for your bike to be raked? And in a nutshell how is it done?

Thanks
Eric

Answer
Rake is the angle that the neck of the frame is, so it is the angle of the forks. Generally it is around 38 degrees for a stock bike. The more degrees the farther the front end is pushed out from the bike. the less degrees the closer the front end is to the bike. When you push the front end out the bike is easier to steer in a straight line but tough iin slow turns.
Hope this helps
Mike
