Motorcycle Repair: Odd Plug Fouling : Carb Sycronization?, suzuki gsxr 750w, air fuel mixture

Question
1994 Suzuki GSXR 750W
Race Exaust
K&N Filter
Possibly Jetted

I recently purchased a GSXR with 12000 miles on it from a dealer.  The bike had been sitting during the winter which had caused varnish in the carbs, so the dealer had rebuilt the carbs and reset all of the floats.  The bike runs great except for an annoying stutter at anywhere between 2000-7000 RPM when accelerating.  I assumed a fouled plug or a rich condition on one cylinder.  After checking all of the plugs, an interesting pattern occured.  Starting on the left (#1) cylinder, the plug was dry fouled (carbon black) going all the way to the  right cylinder (#4) the plug was running perfect, and possibly a touch lean.  While the plugs in between are running in a progressive fashion from fouled to lean.  So simplified, #1=black, #2=semi-black, #3=semi-black but good color on insulator, #4=white.  I assume this is caused by the carbs being out of sync. but I would like a second opinion or another thought.

Answer
Hi Chris,

Not synchronization, instead try adjusting the air-fuel mixture screws and fuel service levels (float heights) on the excessively rich carburetors. Check air restriction possibilities, too.
