Motorcycle Repair: wont idol the same everytime., vacuum leaks, mixture settings

Question
1982 kawasaki 305 csr.checked for vaccume leaks, none, trottle cable adjusted right, trottle closes all the way each time.runs great ,smooth from idol to wide open. What else can I look for? What does csr stand for?

Answer
Glen, the things that affect the idle speed and quality are:
Carburetor speed and mixture settings.
Air/vacuum leaks (intake and exhaust)
Float level settings.
Valve adjustment/compression readings.
Ignition timing and spark advance.... probably where you are having your problems, if everything else is checking out.
If your bike has points and condenser, remove the point plate, check the mechanical spark advancer for proper function, clean points, reinstall point plate. Set points to .012-.014" at highest point on point cam, then move point plate around until the points open on the F or firing mark on the flywheel (you will have to take a cover off the end of the crankshaft to inspect the timing marks).
According to the online microfiche service:
http://www.powersportspro.com/partsfish/displayfiche.asp
your bike has two sets of points and a mechanical spark advancer. One set of points is for each cylinder so there will be two sets of marks on the flywheel.

Here's a link to some specs for your bike...

Dunno about CSR letters.... Custom Street Racer, perhaps...
