Motorcycle Repair: front wheel vs. handlebars off a bit, 1993 suzuki gs500e, triple trees

Question
I'm looking at a 1993 Suzuki GS500E that fell over in the owners garage.  The fall cracked the tach casing, scratched the front fender and knocked the front wheel a bit out of line with the handlebars.  Is this something that can be corrected or is it not worth worrying about?  Owner says he has been riding it like this for a few years with no problem.  What do you think?  Thanks.

Doug

Answer
I usually only answer questions on harleys, but I think I can help you. You have probably twisted the forks when it fell. Locate the bolts that hold the forks and the triple trees and loosen them. This might pop the forks back into place. If not then put the front wheel between your legs and grab the handle bars and twist the front end until its aligned again.
Good luck and happy riding
