Motorcycle Repair: loose brake handle, harley road king, manual states

Hi Mike,

I have a '96 Harley Road King that has a loose brake handle which causes the brake light to remain on. If I wiggle the handle and push it forward the light goes off. The manual states that the handle must be touching the switch housing so I did try adjusting that by loosening and moving it around a bit, but to no avail. Is there something I'm not doing right, or is this a major repair? Thanks in advance for your help.

You just have a wore brake handle and it needs to be replaced. Its a easy fix to do yourself.
Looking at the brake handle you will see a pin going through it. Looking underneath, or the bottom of the pin,you will see a snap ring. Remove it and pull the pin out. Put your new handle in, install the pin and the snapring and your set to go.
