Motorcycle Repair: gpx 250 idle problems, air ducts, filter air

Question
my 1989 gpx 250 starts fine and runs ok for about 15 min then wont tick over without giving throttle, just had carbs cleaned and checked the bike seems to run fine untill it is warm then wont tick over and needs throttle to re start after stalling, once cold the bike starts fine again,i only recently got the bike and dont have any history on it, it has about 23,000 miles on the clock, i,m really confused and would be grateful for any help thank you.

Answer
Hi Darran,

It sounds as if the pilot circuit is obstructed: The engine starts and idles until warmed.

If it starts and idles with choke, but stalls after warmed without choke: the pilots are definitely obstructed, unless the engine idle screw is set too low.

Check synchronization and air restrictions: air filter, air ducts and passageways. Remove and inspect spark plugs.
