Motorcycle Repair: yamaha kodiak cv boot replace, 2000 yamaha kodiak, cv boot

Question
I have a 2000 Yamaha Kodiak ATV. I have a replacement inter cv boot, but am not sure how to pull the axle, do I remove the A arm or wheel assembly, ?  My initial approach was to drop the A arm and unbolt the top arm from the wheel assembly, but the top arm has a sealed ball joint and I'm not sure whether to force if off or not.

Answer
Hi Walter,

I'm not sure which model Kodiak you have. I've done Raptors and had to disasseble the A's and remove spindles. I haven't done the Kodiak. I have service manual on CD for the Raptors. If necessary, advise and I'll check the CD.

Have you tried looking at the microfiche on Yamaha's website? "www.yamaha-motor.com"
