Motorcycle Repair: cHARGING SYSTEM, honda cb750f, eventual failure

Question
i HAVE A 1981 HONDA CB750F SUPER SPORT, I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CHARGING SYSTEM, I KEEP HAVING THE BATTERY GO DEAD, I HAVE CHANGED THE VOLTAG REGULATOR, STATOR, ABD BATTERY AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM, ANY IDEAS

Answer
Hi Matt.
Before you go changing any more parts, have you looked for shorts in the wiring?  A short in the charging system would cause, not only the system to not charge the battery, but eventual failure of all of the components that you have already replaced.

Check for shorts both visually and with a multimeter.  You may end up having to (worst case) replace the wiring harness.

Check it out, but try repairs before parts replacements if at all possible.

Good luck.
