Motorcycle Repair: Steering, aprilia rs50, torque specs

Hi Chris

New to bikes as my son has just got himself an aprilia RS50. Problem is with the steering, it generally locks up.  Have been told it is some type of bearing problem in the front forks.  What do I look for when searching for parts, or is there a technical name for these bearings.

Hi Steve.
 What you are looking at is a set of steering head bearings.  Both upper and lower.

You will want the repair manual as it has detailed dissassembly/reassembly instructions as well as torque specs for tightening down the steering head.
