Motorcycle Repair: valve adj., model honda, crankcase

Question
falcon i have 73 model honda 360 cb twin.how do you set points and valves.please tell me all you have time to. thanks

Answer
Hi Clyde.
Actually, the answer to your question resides in the repair manual along with the specs for the adjustment.

Here's the basics, as most bikes are done a little bit differently, it may vary a bit from the manual.

Remove the access to the valves and the crankcase side cover that has access to the timing wheel.

Turn the timing wheel and crank to the "T 1" mark and adjust the valves for #1 cylinder in accordance with the manuals specs and lock down the adjusters.  Repeat for #2 cylinder.

After they are adjusted, turn the crank through a few turns and check the adjustments.  They should still be right.  Reassemble the covers and the bike is ready.

Good luck.
