Motorcycle Repair: rewireing the headlight, kawasaki vulcan, beam power

Hi I have A 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500cc bike. I want to rewire the headlight so that it does not burn all the time. I want to put a switch on it to turn the headlight on and off. Can you tell me how to do this. Thanks

Hi Paul,

Find the low beam power wire, located in the headlight housing. Install the switch and new wiring in series with this wire. You'll need a wiring diagram. I cannot remember Kawasaki's system power color code. Use a 12VDC tester to determine low beam wire at headlight connector. Find a place to splice the switch and add new wire of same size to locate sw where you desire.
