Motorcycle Repair: carbs gummed up?, honda silver wing, oil mixture

Question
I assume my carbs got gummed up.  I don't really know. The bike won't start with new plugs, wires and electricity?  I pulled the plug and they were pretty wet with gas oil mixture on plugs?!  So I assume some gas was getting into the cyclinder walls...but no ignition?  Hmm...I figured I had some old gas in their and couldn't get combustion...so...I though maybe the carbs need to be soaked.  What do I soak the carbs in...and "do I need to take this to a shop?"  The bike is a honda silver wing 500 custom motor?!

Answer
Hi Thomas,

Sned me your email address as requested. I'll return several files on carb cleaning and tuning. Decide if you can do the work. If not, have a shop perform the repairs.

I suspect the fuel in the carbs may have varnished. This requires a thorough cleaning. The info in my files describes the cleaning process in detail. The files also explain what tools and chemicals are needed.
