Motorcycle Repair: oil change, oil drain plug, ninja zx

Question
Hi, I have a 1992 kawasaki zx6d3 ninja, I'd like to start doing my own oil changes instead of paying to have them done. I have a few questions on what I need to do,
1.Where is the drain plug?
2.do I need to remove the fairing to change the oil or filter?
3.what is the best way to get the bike on the center stand for easier access to oil?
I always feel like I am going to tip the bike when getting it on the stand. I think thats about it, any other tips would help. thanks

Answer
Hi Drew,

Drew: Where is the drain plug?

Mark: Look on the oil pan and locate the large bolt. That's the oil drain plug. See it here:

Drew: Do I need to remove the fairing to change the oil or filter?

Mark: Yes. The lower cowl will need to be removed.

Drew: What is the best way to get the bike on the center stand for easier access to oil?

Mark: step on the stand's foot peg, balance both pads on the ground, use legs to lift and roll MC back on cams of pads until up.
