Motorcycle Repair: Rough running engine, air fuel mixture, many moons

Question
I have asked this question earlier, but neglected to mention (brain fart) the FI aspect.  I own a Kawasaki 1999 1500 Drifter FI (Vulcan - fuel injected). I beleive it is running "rough". I sense it more through the vibrations through the floorboards & handlebars, rather than hearing it through the exhaust. Other than the spark plugs & carb, most of the bike doesn't need adjusting. What should I be looking for to smooth out the engine (if that's possible). My last bike (many moons ago - 1969), was a Triumph TR6C, which needed all kinds of TLC adjustments. Today's bikes seem to be "missing" all the fun stuff (valve adjustments, points, dwell, etc...).
Thanx,
Bill

Answer
Hi Bill,

If its fuel injected, there are no carburetors. I would need to read the spark plugs to get an idea of what's happening during combustion and the air-fuel mixture.

The rough running could be a faulty sensor reading or other electronic related circumstance.

It could be sour gasoline or condensation in the gas. It could be one or more several other possibilities. Give it some time and monitor the problem. Note any changes or improvements in running condition. Consider having a shop check it and/or perform a scheduled maintenance (tune-up).
