Motorcycle Repair: 78 honda cm 185 twinstar, spark plug wire, plug caps

Question
I'm having trouble getting this bike started after it was in storage for the winter months. So far I've changed spark plugs, oil, drained all the old gas from tank, changed condenser it failed the power load up test. I checked the coil leads for resistance, tested spark plug wire leads from coil, wires okay but spark plug caps failed. Besides replacing the spark plug caps, I'm thinking to change the points as well. I was not getting juice to the sp plugs. Anything else that I have missed that I should check and change.
Very new at working on this bike myself.  But enjoy working on it as well as riding.

Thanks for any help or info you may have.

Answer
Gayle, you need to clean the point faces to a shiny surface, gap them to .012-.014" then move the point plate until they just open at the F mark alignment. That should get your spark back. IF not check the KILL switch for corrosion or disconnection of the leads. BE SURE that the battery is fully charged up!

Drain the carburetor float bowl and pray that the main and idle jets are not plugged up with old fuel deposits.
