Motorcycle Repair: Kawasaki KH125, superior sex, shively


Question
I've just bought my first bike to learn on it was made in 1990.  When ticking over the bike just dies unless I have it turned up high with the tick over screw.  When I come up to a junction it cuts out regularly.  It is really difficult to get it started again - as if the petrol isn't getting through.

Any ideas would be welcome.  Please explain in very simple terms as I'm a girl!

Hi Meredith,

If the MC was parked or stored for awhile the carb may have varnished. This is very common and requires a thorough carb cleaning.
