Motorcycle Repair: chain and transmission, honda nsr125r, 10w30

Question
I have a Honda NSR125R 2003 model.  I kept it in the garage over winter and when I took it out I noticed the chain is dry, there is no lubrication on it at all, which oil should I use to lubricate it and how?

I also noticed my transmission oil is running on minimum, which oil should I use to refill it?

Answer
Hi Kirsty,

Awesome motorcycle!

I prefer Bel-Ray or PJ1 chain lubes.

Use the oil recommended by Honda for the transmission. You can use a premium brand oil. Select the viscosity for your climate. 10W30 and 10W40 works well for most climates. Read the label for details. Read the owner's manual for details, too.
