Motorcycle Repair: Ive got a 77 Suzuki GS 750..., suzuki gs 750, clutch setup

Question
I've got a '77 Suzuki GS 750 thats been laid up for over a year now. While re assembling after installing new clutch plates, one of the bolts in the clutch basket sheared off. Now I'm standing at a crossroads with the bike as a project. I don't know if i should try to drill & tap the bolt out myself, remove the basket and bring it to a machine shop, or find a whole new clutch setup.
Also, while its been laid up I've been pondering taking the entire engine out and having it bored, ported, etc...  If I decide to go this route, what type of investment would i be looking at and where to I find a reputable shop to do the work?

Answer
Cory, To the first part of your question,Take it to a machine shop for the drilling & tapping out.The second part,If you are going to restore or keep for a evry day rider, and plan on riding it for a while,Have the work done. But if your going to fix up to sell it's not worth the time or money to do that much work.Sorry for the poor answer. But the bike is in between too old and too new.Good luck.
