Motorcycle Repair: CBR150R, air fuel mixture, cv type

Question
Mark,
I have a 2003 CBR150R engine - a DOHC, watercooled thumper from thailand.  The engine is going into my mini racebike (No battery).  I have the engine mounted in the chassis, and all setup.  I can bump start the engine and it will idle.  But, when I go to give it throttle it bogs heavily then dies.  It has a CV type carb on it - I have checked the vaccum sleave and it is OK.  I have also tried a flat slide carb and the problem persisted.

There are three wires coming from out of the stator and one from the pickup.  The pick up is connected to the CDI and one wire from the stator is connected to the CDI.  Does the CDI need a battery?  Is this an electrical problem, or

could there be a problem as the fuel tank does not have a full tank of fuel.  Does an engine need the additional pressure from more gas in the tank to make the fuel flow?

Is there something else I can look for?  I am at a loss.  I have been trying to bump start the bike for weeks  trying different things.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

Travis

Answer
Hi Travis,

The electrical system was designed with a battery in the charging circuit. You can eliminate unessary circuits for racing, but a 12vdc battery should remain part of the system.

The bogging is due to an overly rich air-fuel mixture.

The amount of fuel in the tank (head pressure) is not a concern as long as the float bowl fills.
