Motorcycle Repair: Harley maintenance, spark plugs, spark plug

Question
I have a '93 Heritage that's been stored all winter and I was wondering what all I should do to it before riding it.I've had people telling me a variety of things, some of it is normal stuff like change the oil but some of it sounds crazy... like change the spark plug or clean the old one before cranking it for the first time or it'll blow out the piston? And to roll it in gear before cranking to unseize the motor. Please advise...thank you.

Answer
Since the bike has been stored for only the winter the motor should not be seized. You can go ahead and start he bike with no problem. I have never heard of changing the spark plugs or it will blow a piston! Let the bike warm up and after it does, change the oil and filter and you should be good to go.
Good luck and happy riding
