Question
Chris, this a electrical problem, had to run a by-passs wire to get power to back section of bike,( tail lights, turn signals)at this time, its a live wire .constantly killing the battery.is there a way to locate any shorts other  then pulling the wire harness apart?now the front turns signals quit working!damn from one problem to the next.mikey

Answer
Hi Mike.
If you have the repair manual, you should not need to pull the harness apart to fix this problem.  It will have the wiring diagram for you to chase it down easily enough.  If you want it bypassed better till you get the manual, then run your power wire from the lights to the fuses for each of the affected circuits.
Piggyback them to the fusebox wiring after the fuse(power-fuse-circuit).  Those circuits do not get power till the key is turned on and that will solve your power drain problem.

Let me know how it goes.
Good luck.
