Motorcycle Repair: Battery/Starter, vt750dc, charging system

2002 Honda VT750DC...clicking sound when I go to start it...headlight is bright though...bike started up fine but lost power and stalled as I was riding it and I couldn't get it restarted...sound like the battery needs charging or replacement? I just got this bike a week ago from a wholesaler - bummer!

Hi Kevin,

Yes, you need to check the battery's condition with a multimeter and hydrometer. It may need charged or replaced. If you do not have these tools, simply charge the battery with a 1 amp charger for several hours, and then try and restart. If no start, replace battery.

Once running, perform an ouput test on the charging system to see if it is charging the battery.
