Motorcycle Repair: 78 low rider, fuel mixture, low rider

Michael,just rebuilt 78 low rider and am having problems with 1)keeping a battery charged,have new batt,new cables,new stator. 2)plugs are fouling bad...s&s super b .The engine is now 80 c.i. and i am about to replace the plugs have new battery charged and was wondering if i might be gaping the plugs wrong.My question ,best gap for plugs,also i have elect and kick both work and pointless ignition.Thanks for your help...D.J.

 Harleys are not my thing, 2-strokes from the 70's are.  You might wat to consult another on the list, I'm pretty sure there are a couple.  Just off the cuff though, check all connections (and that they are correct) and make sure your voltage regulator and rectifier are working.  Fouling plugs are a totaly seperate problem.  Recheck your timing and fuel mixture.
