Motorcycle Repair: how to set a torque wrench, honda vfr750, honda cruiser

Question
Hi Chris,
I have to ask a pretty dumb question of you...
I bought a torque wrench quite a few years ago and never had to use it.Now I have a Honda vfr750 and would like to know how to set the torque when adjusting the chain etc.I,ve done a basic mechanical course years ago but cant remember how to set a micrometer type wrench... you know the type with the locknut and settings in the handle?
Could you explain it or link me to a site that will.I have looked but they dont explain things.
Also do you ride a Honda cruiser now ?
Ever been on a vfr750?What do you think of them?

Cheers,
       Rich.

Answer
Hi Rich.
To be honest, the only torque wrenches that I have ever used have been the old fashioned kind with a needle marker and long lever arm.  I have never used the micrometer type and couldn't even begin to tell you how to adjust it properly.

However, if you look up the manufacturer on the web, they may have a web page that could explain it, or hav somewhere that you could refer to for those instructions.

As far as being on the VFR750, I don't recall ever having ridden one, but a few of my friends have and they seem to like them well enough.  Of course there are also a few that don't like them.
As with every bike out there, it is all really a matter of personal taste and riding style.  If you like it, then that is all that really matters.

Sorry I can't help further.
Good luck.
