Motorcycle Repair: effects of rake on handling, soft tail frame, tom horne

Question
I am building a custom bike. The soft tail frame I ordered has 38 deg. of rake and I have a stock springer front end.
I plan on working with wheel sizes to keep the bike level to the ground. Will the extra rake (8 deg. over stock) effect my handling adversely? I understand that the more rake the harder to turn, but do you think that 38 deg. will make it less safe?  Thanks,

Answer
It wont make it less safe, just harder to turn. You are going ot have to take your turns a little slower is all. Going straight down the road it will be easier to handle. SO I guess to answer your question, no it will not be less safe, just a little more difficult going around corners.
Good luck and happy riding
