Motorcycle Repair: Head Cylinder Leaking, kawasaki klx 300, head cylinder

Question
Does anybody know if I can get a Head Cylinder for a 2000 Kawasaki KLX 300 machined? Bought from an individual who got it hot and suspect it to be slightly warped. Would like to try an alternative to replacing the entire head cylinder.($475.00)

Would appreciate any help.

Answer
Hi Chris,

It's called the Cylinder Head. You had the terminology backwards.

If the head is not warped too badly, a machinist can restore the the bottom surface by milling. The machinist will need to examine the head. He can tell you if its salvagable.

MC parts are expensive. They always get us, one way or another. : )
