Motorcycle Repair: YOUR Choice of Lubricants, cam bearings, shock proof

Question
I noticed in one of your past replys to a question about Synthetic Oil, that you have chosen to stay with (H-D 360 20/50 Motor Oil; Harley Primary Fluid; and Red Line Shock Proof Transmission Fluid) INSTEAD of moving to Synthetics in all three places.  I have a new FXD and am about to do the first fluid changes at 1000 miles.  I was thinking of Synthetics for all, but am curious as to why you would not do so.  I want the best fluids for my bike.  Please tell me your reasons for staying with the other.  Would you stay with the others with a new bike also?  Lastly, is the Red Line Shock Proof Trans Fluid a Harley Product?  If not, where can I find that product?  Will appreciate any information you can share with me on these matters.  Thanks...Lee Anders

Answer
HI LEE.
RED LINE PRODUCTS ARE NOT A HARLEY PRODUCT. i USE THIS IN MY STREET BIKES AND RACE BIKES. AND CHANGING EVERYONE OILS WHEN DOING SERVICES FOR CUSTOMERS HAVE GIVEN ME THE INSIGHT ON WHAT PRODUCTS TO USE AND WHAT NOT TO USE. THESE ARE MY OPIONS ONLY. ALL I KNOW IS I DONT BRAKE DOWN AND I RUN COOLER AND FASTER WITH MORE HORSE POWER AND TORQUE THEN ALL MY CUSTOMERS UNLESS THEY USE THE SAME PRODUCTS AS I DO. GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW BIKE AND HAVE THE INA CAM BEARINGS CHANGED TO TORRINGTON CAM BEARINGS BEFORE YOU HAVE THE MOTOR GO BAD. I HAVE FIXED QUITE A FEW NEW MOTORS WITH CAM BEARING FAILURE.  JOHNNY
