Motorcycle Repair: T-140DS speedo cable, speedometer drive, speedometer cable

The speedometer cable on my 1986 T-140 D S Bonne broke off where it enters the speedometer drive-gear at the rear wheel. My manual doesn't show how to install a new cable. What do I need to do and are there any pitfalls I need to be aware in order to make this repair?

No problems here, before you start take careful note of exactly how the cable works it's way through the frame/front forks. Then undo at both ends, it doesn't matter which end you attach first, but it's easier if you get the new cable back in place through the frame etc before you fix either end, when you're happy, screw up both ends and you're away!
