Motorcycle Repair: Fatboy Oil Leak, oil leaks, head gasket

I have a 99 Fatboy with 10k miles. When I turned off the motor after a 12 mile ride, it keep on running for a bit and make a backfire noise. When I left work 8 hours later, it started and ran just fine. That night I noticed two large oil spots on the garage floor. I wiped the underside of the block and collected one ounce or so of oil on a rag. The oil seems to be coming from around the rocker covers (both) head gasket area. I'd like an opinion on what is wrong, and if it is the rocker cover gaskets, is this something I can do myself with tools from Sears?

to find oil leaks you first have to wash the bike clean and then ride it around the block and shut the bike off, weight 10 mins to see if any leak shows up?. if not then ride it around the block again. Untill you see where the oil leak is coming from.I can not tell where your oil is coming from over this computor. I am good but I am not GOD
