Motorcycle Repair: I own an 87 kawasaki kxf250..., kx 500, jet size

Question
I own an '87 kawasaki kxf250 tecate. I replaced the engine with one from an '87 kx 500. I used the carb. from kx 500 and the ignition from the tecate. the bike runs strong but is very difficult to start. I would like to know the proper fuel/oil ratio, the best spark plug to use (93 oct. pump gas) and proper jet size. Also the cylinder is .30 over. Any suggestions for getting it started easier will be greatly appreaciated.   Thank You.

Answer
Hi Robert,

Q: I would like to know the proper fuel/oil ratio.
A: 32:1

Q: the best spark plug to use (93 oct. pump gas).
A: NGK BR8EG or BR8EG

Q: and proper jet size. Also the cylinder is .30 over. Any suggestions for getting it started.
A: You have to read the spark plug and tune (jet) the carb accordingly. Get the carburetion dialed in and the engine should start easily. If it starts and runs on choke only, the pilot circuit is obstructed. Clean the carb. Ensure the air filter is clean and in good condition.
