Motorcycle Repair: yamaha seca two, yamaha seca, inspection mirror

Question
I have a 93 seca two, very low miles. Just had carborater work done and it ran fine.  Now, everytime I start the bike, gas pours out of the air intake drain hole. I thought a float was sticking but not sure.  Bike will start but soon gas is running everywhere.  Lots of gas runs out.  Bike is in excellent shape.  Not sure where to go from here.   Thanks

Answer
Hi Darren.
There are very few things that would cause fuel to go into the air intake.  A stuck float would be one.  Bad seals would be another.  It could be that there is a leak elswhere in the fuel system as well.

Basically, what you want to do is follow the fuel flow back from the air box to the fuel source.  You'll need to set the bike up on the center stand and running while searching for the leak.  Also make sure that you have an inspection mirror to see in some of those hard to access areas.  You should see where the leak is coming from.

Good luck.
