Motorcycle Repair: 1972 bmw 75/5 bing carbs, o rings, synchronizing files


Question
i am firing my 750 for the first time in 4 years
the problem i,m  having is that the left carb will not run without full choke if i close the choke the left cylinder stops running. the carbs have been disassembled and cleaned and gaskets and o-rings have been replaced.the bike runs rough up to 2500 rpm the seems to clear out. do you have any idea,s. thanks for your help.

Hi Steve,

The pilot circuits may be obstructed.

It runs on choke because the pilot and choke share passageways and the choke compensates by bypassing the obstuction (acts as if it were the pilot circuit).

I suggest recleaning the carbs, or at least that side.
