Motorcycle Repair: motor removel, shadow ace, drive shaft

putting new water pump on 95 VT 1100C2 shadow ACE.have about all tore down except mounting brackets. need to know if motor slides off of front on drive shaft,or do I half to remove rear wheel to do this.thank's in advance for info.      Larry E. Linton

Hi Larry,

If I remember right, once the circlip is removed from front driveshaft splines, the shaft will pull back a bit and with manueuvering the engine, the shaft will allow removal. May have to raise and lower, wiggle and twist, and pull on the engine to get her out.

You're using the service manual, right?
