Motorcycle Repair: 2002 Yamaha YZ125, 2002 yz 125, engine configuration

Hello Chris, I was just wondering how to check the transmission oil on my friends 2002 YZ 125.  I have a 2000 YZ 250 and thought it would be comparable, but it isn't.  Can you help?

Hi Justin.
 I would imagine that the transmission oil, unless they have radically changed the engine configuration, is the same as the engine oil.  Just change it as recommended and you should have no problem.  If you are concerned about the level, then the owner's manual should tell you where the dipstick is, if there is no inspection window.  That will look like any other cap, except that it will have a flat section sticking up for you to unscrew by hand.
