Motorcycle Repair: Fuel Injection vs. Carb, softail standard, sporster

Question
Hi,

I'm planning on getting a new Softail Standard this spring. I was pretty set on getting it with fuel injection for the convenience of just starting the bike and going without having to wait for it to warm up. After some thought I'm not sure if it's worth it or not? I'll have to have the dealer put on new pipes and a filter kit because they have to re-map the fuel injection. I have a sporster right now and I put on my own pipes and filter, forward controls etc... But I'm no mechanic. Just simple things like that. Are there any other advantages to fuel injection that might make the $600 cost for it, plus the cost of paying my dealer to put something on that I could put on if it were carberated?

Thanks

David
