Motorcycle Repair: Restoring Yamaha 1976 TY175, clutch cable, exhaust gasket

Question
hi i just bought a ty175, it is 1976 bike. I noticed that when i ride it for around an hour or so, black oil drips out from engine front, close to where exhaust attaches to engine... Another problem i have is with teh clutch. Basically when in gear the bike moves forward slightly notwithstanding me pressing teh clutch. Should i chaange teh plates? I am very much of a beginner and wish to fix up this bike, however don't really know where to begin...

Answer
Marco,
Two things need to be addressed.  They are simple and cheap:

1)  You need to loosen the exhaust header from the cylinder (two nuts) and pry the old exhaust gasket out of the flange and replace it with a new one ordered from your local dealership or over the internet.  Reinstall in reverse.

2) You need to adjust the clutch cable.  Loosen the locking nut (knurled wheel) at the end of the clutch cable (hand lever end).  Next, turn the adjuster hollow bolt out.  Finally retighten the locking nut.  Start engine and check operation.  Readjust (back out more) if clutch still grabs when fully dissengauged.
